Basic subjects: Maths, Physics, Applied biology, Anatomy, Physiology, General and Inorganic chemistry, Organic chemistry, Analytical chemistry, Physical chemistry, General pathology, Clinical pathology, Clinical microbiology.
Characterizing subjects: Pharmaceutical chemistry, Pharmaceutical technology and legislation, Biochemistry, Molecular biology, Pharmaceutical biology, Food chemistry, Pharmacology, Marketing and management, Biotechnology, Toxicology.

Students participate in a call for application. Admission requirements are listed in the call for application:

  • early (March/May): recommended to secure a place; high school seniors may also participate, students are admitted through a selective test TOLC
  • standard (July/August)
  • postponed (September/October), if there are still places available

Course description

The course provides knowledge and skills aimed at research, development, production, control, dispensing and post-marketing surveillance of drugs, diagnostics and health products, also including the formulation of medicinal products following the guidelines of the official Pharmacopoeia. Thanks to scientific and technological multidisciplinary expertise (chemistry, biology, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry and technology) and soft skills, graduates can work as experts of drugs and health products in the corresponding industrial sector, in public or private research institutions, and may also practice the profession of Pharmacist.

To be admitted, students must hold a secondary school graduation or other qualification obtained abroad recognized as equivalent. The ideal candidate favours scientific method and shows interest toward chemical and biomedical sciences concerned with research, development and application of medicinal products.

 

Formation of professionals with an adequate scientific background to work in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmetics industry and to occupy technical and managerial positions in all sectors concerning drugs and health products, as well as to operate in public and private research institutions or to practice the profession of Pharmacist.

 

As experts of medicinals, graduates can be employed in chemical, pharmaceutical, dietary supplements or cosmetics industries; public or private research centres, pharmaceuticals laboratories; pharmacovigilance,clinical monitoring and regulatory affairs offices; pharmacies, drugstores and pharmaceutical departments of the National Health Service.

 

Fees, contributions and exemptions

Costs calculated based on family income (ISEE-University) and including:

  • fee for the equal access to university studies (from 130€ to 160€);
  • annual amount (from 0 (if ISEE-University <= € 22,000) to € 2,000);

Flat tax = €1,000 for international students (UE and non UE)

With a family income (ISEE-University < € 26,000) students are entitled to receive:

  • Scholarship consisting of total exemption from taxes, cash share, canteen and accommodation service (for off-site students)
  • Grants for international mobility
  • Reduced rates for the use of sports facilities and cultural services
  • Benefits for students completing their degrees within regulation time

Exclusively on grounds of merit, students can obtain:

  • International mobility grants (Erasmus)
  • Free accommodation and canteen services published in the call DUnicAL career program for student-athletes
