Propaedeutic subject areas (mathematics, physics, general/inorganic/organic chemistry, biology, physiology, biochemistry, and human anatomy);

Biomedical subject area (General and Clinical Pathology, Microbiology and Clinical Biochemistry, Laboratory Medicine Techniques, and Pharmacology);

Chemical-Pharmaceutical subject area (Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology and Legislation, Innovative Pharmaceutical Forms, Development of Phyto-therapies and Phyto-cosmetics, Technology of Food Products)

Students participate in a call for application. Admission requirements are listed in the call for application:

  • early (March/May): recommended to secure a place; high school seniors may also participate, students are admitted through a selective test TOLC
  • standard (July/August)
  • postponed (September/October), if there are still places available

Course description

The Program trains a well-defined professional figure, i.e. the Scientific Informant, who finds employment in the pharmaceutical and wellness products industry. The degree course includes three subject areas (Propaedeutic, Biomedical Disciplines, Chemical-Pharmaceutical Disciplines) aimed at obtaining expertise on drugs and products used in diagnosis, prevention and health promotion. Finally, a professional curricular internship is organized for the acquisition of mastery of scientific communication principles and techniques and to be included in the employment market

To access the degree course, knowledge and skills acquired during secondary education are necessary and sufficient. In fact, students need to have of a four-year or five-year secondary school diploma or another qualification obtained abroad and recognized as suitable.

 

To enable graduates to present the features/properties of drugs, dietary and herbal products to healthcare professionals, in order to ensure their correct use;
  • to collect thorough information on the therapeutic/collateral effects of drugs,
  • transmitting it to the authorities in charge in order to promote drugs’ constant improvement.

The degree allows undergraduates to work as employees or as freelancers, in public or private entities, such as research centers focusing on post-marketing surveys related to the effects and undesired effects of drugs, or in chemical-pharmaceutical /medical devices/diagnostic, nutritional, dietetic and cosmetic industries

 

Fees, contributions and exemptions

Costs calculated based on family income (ISEE-University) and including:

  • fee for the equal access to university studies (from 130€ to 160€);
  • annual amount (from 0 (if ISEE-University <= € 22,000) to € 2,000);

Flat tax = €1,000 for international students (UE and non UE)

With a family income (ISEE-University < € 26,000) students are entitled to receive:

  • Scholarship consisting of total exemption from taxes, cash share, canteen and accommodation service (for off-site students)
  • Grants for international mobility
  • Reduced rates for the use of sports facilities and cultural services
  • Benefits for students completing their degrees within regulation time

Exclusively on grounds of merit, students can obtain:

  • International mobility grants (Erasmus)
  • Free accommodation and canteen services published in the call DUnicAL career program for student-athletes. Facilitated access to STEM programs
