  • Algebra, geometry, mathematics education, mathematical analysis, calculus of probability and statistics, mathematical physics, numerical analysis. A customization of the program with 36 ECTS allows students to acquire skills in science, engineering, economics, linguistics, philosophy, history, or anthropo-psycho-pedagogy.

Course description

The program of studies aims to achieve an advanced, broad and multi-faceted background at the same time promoting knowledge of some of the most important topics of current scientific research. It focuses on notions of algebra, mathematical analysis, geometry, mathematical physics, numerical analysis, probability and stochastic processes, computer science. It explicitly aims at preparing students for the employment market and for academic and research fields, to work as teachers in secondary schools, as well as in the industrial field in highly innovative areas (finance, modeling, data analysis, etc.).

Students with a degree in the class L-35 Mathematical Sciences or in the class L-32 Mathematical Sciences D.M. 509/99 (or equivalent foreign qualification), or with any other degree, provided they have acquired at least 54 ECTS in MAT/01-09, INF/01, ING-INF/05, FIS/01-08 and SECS-S/01-06; students should accrue at least 30 ECTS in the MAT class

 

The training program aims to increase theoretical, methodological and applicative skills. It allows to further develop analysis and synthesis skills, individual learning, modeling, problem setting and problem solving.

 

Industries and companies, in particular high technological ones; banking and insurance system; public and private research organizations; public administrations, in particular municipal and regional ones; data processing centers; publishing and scientific communication; secondary schools; PhD in Mathematics or related disciplines

 

Fees, contributions and exemptions

Costs calculated based on family income (ISEE-University) and including:

  • fee for the equal access to university studies (from 130€ to 160€);
  • annual amount (from 0 (if ISEE-University <= € 22,000) to € 2,000);

Flat tax = €1,000 for international students (UE and non UE)

With a family income (ISEE-University < € 26,000) students are entitled to receive:

  • Scholarship consisting of total exemption from taxes, cash share, canteen and accommodation service (for off-site students)
  • Grants for international mobility
  • Reduced rates for the use of sports facilities and cultural services
  • Benefits for students completing their degrees within regulation time

Exclusively on grounds of merit, students can obtain:
